What is Pilates?
Pilates is a system of exercises that strengthens and tones the body while increasing flexibility and improving posture. Emphasizing controlled, fluid movements, the method focuses on proper alignment and quality of movement over quantity. Its non-impact resistance allows for a challenging workout that's easy on the joints, gentle enough to be therapeutic yet intense enough to challenge a professional athlete. Pilates builds strength and flexibility while relieving the stress and strain of daily life.
Who does Pilates?
Originally developed as a conditioning method for professional dancers, Pilates has since entered the mainstream of physical fitness, practiced by everyone from elite athletes to actors and embraced for the way it builds core strength and reshapes the body. Its rejuvenating benefits are attainable by anyone who chooses to take control of their fitness: easing the everyday strain of sitting at a desk, protecting the knees of the weekend warrior, and helping busy parents feel their best. Unlike quick fixes and 30-minute fads, Pilates delivers real, lasting results.
